Shenna Bellows is Maine’s 50th Secretary of State, serving in that role since January 2021. Elected every other year by the state legislature, the Secretary of State oversees corporation law and the conduct of elections, as well as the Bureau of Motor Vehicles (BMV). Following anecdotal reporting that personal data available to the BMV had been shared with ICE agents, Amjambo Africa reached out to the (BMV) for comment. Bellows wrote this letter in response, assuring the public that such sharing has not happened.
