The Democratic Party and the Republican Party are the two largest political parties in the U.S. Every four years and ahead of their national conventions, each party develops a party platform, or agenda, for the four-year term of their candidate, should they win the presidency. Then, at their conventions, which take place over the summer prior to the November election, party delegates formally adopt a party platform.

The Democratic Party platform is 92 pages long. The goals of the Democratic party include growing the economy and lowering costs for families, tackling the climate crisis and securing energy independence, closing the racial wealth gap and investing in small businesses, restoring women’s reproductive freedom, protecting communities from the scourge of gun violence and protecting freedoms for all Americans, and securing our border and strengthening American leadership worldwide. The platform also pushes for at least a $15 minimum wage across the country and restores the expanded Child Tax Credit and Earned Income Tax Credit.
The Republican Party platform is 22 pages long. The platform promises to seal the border, stop the migrant invasion, carry out the largest deportation operation in American history, end inflation, make America the dominant energy producer in the world, stop outsourcing, turn the U.S. into a manufacturing superpower with large tax cuts for workers, allow no tax on tips, and end temporary protected status (TPS).
