The Maine Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), Promerica Health, and the City of Lewiston have launched a mobile COVID-19 vaccination clinic in Lewiston.
The clinic, located in the Oak Street municipal parking area, provides free vaccines to adults age 18 and older, both by appointment at VaccinateME.Maine.gov and on a drop-in basis.
Next week, the clinic will offer vaccines according to the following schedule:
May 10 – 9:00 am – 3:00 pm
May 11 – 1:00 pm – 7:00 pm
May 12 – 7:00 am – 1:00 pm
May 13 – 9:00 am – 3:00 pm
May 14 – 7:00 am – 12:00 pm
The clinic has capacity to provide approximately 1,000 vaccinations during its time in Lewiston. After concluding in Lewiston next week, the clinic will travel to additional sites in Androscoggin County and western Maine before looping back to provide second doses, starting again in Lewiston. DHHS and Promerica are working with community partners and area employers to finalize those additional sites, which will offer accessible, efficient vaccination opportunities throughout the region.
“This new clinic provides Androscoggin County with a convenient new option for getting a COVID-19 vaccination,” said Maine Center for Disease Control and Prevention Director Nirav D. Shah. “COVID-19 vaccination is safe, effective, and free. It’s more important than ever that Maine people roll up their sleeves to help our state keep moving in the right direction. I urge anyone who wants a vaccine in Lewiston to book an appointment or drop by.”
