Portland Coffee Hunters at Burundi Star. Mark Peterson is second from right.
Portland Coffee Hunters, a meet up group, visited Burundi Star at 261 St. John’s Street in Portland on the morning of the city’s first snow of the season on December 17.
Owners Andre Nzeyimana and Jocelyn Kamikazi
Members of the group tasted coffee, spent time talking with owners Andre Nzeyimana and Jocelyn Kamikazi, learned about Burundi, browsed and purchased goods on display, and left saying they’d be back soon. The next stop of the group will be Rwanda Bean on January 7. Mark Peterson is founder of Portland Coffee Hunters and owner of Black Point Coffee, a small batch coffee roaster in Scarborough. Coffee lovers are encouraged to join the group.
